Bella Greige

Bella Greige sits exactly where its name puts it, between grey and beige. The ground is warm and softly mottled, and a fine web of paler veins spreads across it, lifting the tone in places and letting it settle in others, never gathering into a line the eye can follow to the edge of the slab. Being in between gives it range. Oak and brass warm it, grey plaster and blackened steel cool it. The same slab answers to both and does not commit the room to one temperature. So it goes down where the eye is not meant to linger: whole floors, full-height walls, corridors that carry people from one room to the next.
