Classic Travertine Vein Cut

Sawn along the bed, the Denizli travertine turns its layering into long horizontal bands. Warm cream and honey striations run edge to edge, and the pores stretch into fine slots that follow the lines. This face is ordered. Set horizontally the bands continue over the joints and an elevation reads as a single stratified surface. Turned upright the same slabs make a lobby taller than it is. It is the cut chosen when travertine has to behave architecturally, and it holds that discipline across a façade and across a reception wall alike. Two thousand years of Mediterranean building sit behind the material, and this is the cut that brings it into a drawing office. The cross-cut face is listed as Classic Travertine.
