Kemalpaşa White

Kemalpaşa White is the plainest white in the collection, and deliberately so. The ground is a luminous crystalline white with no veining. Only at close range does the sugar of the crystal show through as pale grey flecks. In Türkiye it is known as Kemalpaşa Beyazı, and it is one of the country's few genuinely homogeneous white marbles. One slab looks like the next and the tenth looks like the first. A floor, a staircase or a full-height wall stays one surface from end to end, and a second delivery matches the first without being sorted. Tightly crystallised and unusually dense for a white, it keeps its brightness in the places a building uses most.
