Noche Travertine

Noche Travertine is the dark brown travertine of Denizli, and its name comes from the Italian noce, meaning walnut. The colour is exactly that: a ground running from chocolate to warm russet, clouded with lighter passages, scattered with darker patches, carrying the open pores that identify travertine at a glance. The trade also calls it Noce Travertine, Walnut Travertine and Denizli Noce. Brown travertine gives a large surface a sense of having settled. That is why it has been the stone of Mediterranean terraces, courtyards, garden steps and pool surrounds for decades. Outdoors it belongs to the weather. Sun deepens it, and the floor goes on looking like the ground it was cut out of.
