Rosso Venato

Rosso Venato is a white dolomitic marble across which a dense network of rust-red and copper veining falls. The veins are fine and angular, splitting and rejoining along the slab. The white ground stays dominant and the red does the drawing. In the international trade it is sold as Calacatta Rosso Venato and Rosso Venato Dolomite. The effect is graphic. The warmth arrives as line, thin enough for a pale room and dense enough to read from the door. It is chosen when a pale scheme needs one warm incident: a vanity top, the face of a reception desk, the end panel of an island, a fireplace meant to be the only thing in the room.
